Dallas, Texas—ALM First is pleased to announce the addition of Erik Sand as the new Case Design Analyst. This newly created role is designed to support the firm’s expanding Executive Benefits Services team. Sand brings extensive expertise in executive benefits planning, financial services and analysis, and product development within the bank, credit union, and corporate market. He was placed by DDJ Myers, an ALM First Company and well-known leadership development firm that offers a broad range of solutions to help clients optimize their greatest assets – their people.
With a passion for creating tailored benefit solutions, Sand will play a key role in analyzing and designing executive benefit plans that help financial institutions attract and retain top leadership talent. Sand has been recognized for his industry contributions, including receiving the 2023 Securian Financial “Aiming High” award, an honor given to top professionals in executive benefits strategy. His addition to the team enhances ALM First’s capacity to provide industry-leading executive benefits solutions to its clients.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team at ALM First Executive Benefits,” said Erik Sand. “I am passionate about finding creative and beneficial solutions for institutions so they can remain focused on serving their communities. I look forward to collaborating with the team to bring innovative strategies to our clients.”
Prior to joining ALM First, Sand served as a Consultant, Executive Benefits at Securian Financial, where he was a subject matter expert in guaranteed issue (GI) and simplified issue (SI) underwriting, competitive intelligence, and financial strategy development. His experience includes developing market-leading underwriting platforms, advising on complex case design, and consulting with insurance carriers on product-market fit. Most recently, he worked at Lion Street, where he collaborated with executive benefit firms and underwriters on case fit, census selection, and underwriting strategies.
In his new role at ALM First, Sand will analyze and develop customized executive benefit plans, model financing strategies, and collaborate with insurance carriers to optimize plan designs. His financial acumen and ability to assess life insurance solutions will support ALM First’s mission of delivering innovative and high-impact executive benefit strategies for credit unions and financial institutions.
His placement is part of DDJ Myers’ ongoing collaboration with ALM First to strategically build and expand its executive benefits division, ensuring the right leadership is in place to meet evolving client needs. “Lauren Sankwich and Candis Martinez with DDJ Myers were wonderful to work with throughout the interview and onboarding process. Their responsiveness, preparation for interviews, and clear communication are best in class,” Sand stated.
