As part of their commitment to exceptional service, ALM First is excited to announce an opening for a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate to join their esteemed Advisory Services team. In this pivotal role, the Associate will work closely with our Advisory Directors to manage client relationships and convey effective capital allocation strategies for depository institutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fixed-income valuation or asset/liability management, along with experience in client-facing roles. The Associate will be instrumental in managing client relationships, developing and communicating analyses and capital allocation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure ALM First clients are well-serviced by assisting in day-to-day relationship management, participating in ad hoc meetings, and fulfilling informational requests
- Collaborate with ALM First’s specialized groups to develop and implement investment and business strategies aligned with clients’ goals and risk appetites
- Assist clients in managing risk by conducting appropriate risk-related analyses (credit, liquidity, or interest rate) and devising hedging strategies to offset balance sheet risk
- Support the Advisory Director in developing strategic analyses to guide institutions in allocating capital across their balance sheets
- Monitor deposit trends, market rates, spread levels across asset classes, and credit trends across loan portfolios
- Evaluate client balance sheet performance. Provide insights on risk governance and review policy structure to ensure alignment with both institutional risk appetite and industry best practices.
- Prepare presentations for executive managers, boards of directors, and industry conferences
- Occasional travel to support the Advisory Director and build client relationships
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of fixed-income valuation or asset/liability management
- Experience in client-facing roles is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally
