Join the board of directors for a progressive financial institution in the state of Washington, Kitsap Credit Union (KCU). KCU is recruiting a board member with a leadership perspective and experience with digital marketing and sales revenue, or operational efficiency (Six Sigma or Lean Technologies, etc.). KCU values diversity and is actively seeking candidates with a broad range of experiences, perspectives and backgrounds. This board member position is an excellent way to leverage your leadership, strategic thinking, and dedication to community.
As a board member, you will be mentored to understand the credit union’s strategic vision, mission, and values. You will be an active participant deciding the strategic direction of the organization, involved in governance, and provide executive level oversight. This will require a deep knowledge of the credit union’s products and services as well as a thorough knowledge of the credit union’s financials, community impact, and overall performance.
A board member typically contributes a minimum of 150 hours a year in board related activities. The new board member must be committed in both time and attention to helping KCU be a beacon of financial wellness and community service. The board is looking for someone to serve long-term and eventually take on an officer position. Finalists must agree to participate on a board committee and be or become a member of the credit union. As a board member, you will participate in strategic planning sessions, community events, conferences, and board training seminars.
The new board member should think independently, deliver progressive leadership, and understand the membership and communities served. The board seeks a member who supports an environment where forward-thinking is the norm and recognizes and appreciates other board members’ contributions. KCU’s growth strategies require challenging the status quo in constructive partnerships across the board and with the chief executive officer (CEO) to support effective decision-making. Candidates will have experience with a board of directors to be considered for the position. This experience can come from serving on, working closely with, reporting to a board, etc. Candidates will also have demonstrated leadership experience as well as the ability to understand financial statements and the budgeting process. The new board member must live/work in western Washington.
