Become a contributing member of a diverse, energetic, dynamic, and high-performing board of directors for the largest credit union in Colorado and leverage your leadership, strategic thinking, and community passion. Our current membership is throughout Colorado, and we are looking for potential board members who reside in southern Colorado, including Pueblo and all areas south. Ent Credit Union’s board of directors is recruiting a board member who can provide thoughtful insights and diverse perspectives and understands our membership and the communities we serve. We seek someone with a background in non-profit organizations and finance. In addition to financial literacy, experience in consensus building, and a passion for continuous learning, the candidate has an established political network (local or statewide), is active in their local community, and has lobbying experience. Our ideal candidate must support an environment where forward-thinking is the norm and appreciate the contributions of other board members. Our growth strategies require new board members to challenge the status quo in constructive partnerships with other board members and the chief executive officer (CEO) to support effective decision-making.
Ent’s board includes strong executive and community leadership talent, financial services, accounting and finance, strategic marketing and brand, and business continuity practices. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have vast experience in non-profit organizations and finance. Additionally, skills in advocacy, public policy, economic trends, asset-liability management, and finance are preferred. We are looking for someone who can also bring a diversity of background and diversity of thought to the board team. Our ideal board member is passionate about our membership’s financial safety and soundness and values contributing to boardroom discussions and decision-making. They are a strong communicator with solid interpersonal skills and can easily connect with others. They also have an appetite and desire to learn about credit unions and enhance their mission.
Essential Functions:
As an active board member, you will be mentored in an onboarding process to:
- Understand the credit union’s strategic vision and targets
- Participate in deciding the strategic direction of the organization
- Proactively participate in effective board governance and leadership
- Learn about the products and services and how they benefit members
- Gain knowledge of the credit union’s financials and overall performance
This board member must reside in southern Colorado. Specifically in Pueblo or areas south.
The average board member contributes a minimum of 150 hours per year to board and committee meetings and leadership conferences. You must agree to participate on a board committee and be a member of Ent. You will have opportunities to participate in strategic planning sessions, community events, conferences, and board training seminars.

Directors are paid quarterly, with compensation prorated based on positions held by Directors during the year as needed. In total, the maximum annual compensation level for fully engaged Board members meeting participation requirements and performing at a peak level is $55,000.
