Waterfront Federal Credit Union is looking for an individual with accounting and business development expertise to be placed as the organization’s new chief executive officer. This dedicated, unionized organization provides a unique and individualized service to members of certain unions with membership to more than 6,300. Originally chartered in 1964, Waterfront Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative in the beautiful Puget Sound area of Washington state. The credit union is seeking a strong, hands-on leader to plan for the future growth of the credit union and its members; embrace the unique culture of its membership; and support its marketing, branding, loan growth, and technology initiatives.
The CEO is responsible for the wellbeing of the credit union. The CEO must build relationships and work with vendors. The credit union employees know each of them plays a part in the success of the institution and bringing value to members, therefore the CEO must enhance the supportive, collaborative, team-oriented culture Waterfront has. The CEO is responsible for marketing initiatives, ensuring financial stability and fiduciary responsibility to grow the credit union, and strategically guiding the credit union toward its vision. The CEO is also responsible for educating the board on current and future risks and opportunities and being a steward to foster innovative learning. The CEO will also have chief financial officer responsibilities and administrative and operational oversight.
Qualified candidates will have:
- a bachelors degree
- 10 years of experience in a leadership role within a credit union or banking organization
- a strong background in accounting
- the ability to envision situations to formulate new concepts
- excellent interpersonal skills
- business development expertise
- an interest in working with labor unions
- the ability to acquire information/data analytics to make decisions about growth
