In its unwavering dedication to providing exceptional service and innovative products to its members, Verve is introducing a new senior executive position. The Chief Growth Officer (CGO) role is a recently established position primarily focusing on strategically advancing the credit union’s products and membership. As a key guardian of the credit union’s brand, the CGO will spearhead and shape the go-to-market strategy, drive membership growth, and champion best-in-class service for its valued members.
The CGO will be inspirational, positive, strategic, and innovative and possess the knowledge and ability to recommend strategies to the CEO, the board, and the rest of the executive team. They will own and drive the planning, development, and execution of the comprehensive growth strategies aligned with the credit union’s mission and objectives. The CGO will extend the credit union’s reach and impact by leading initiatives to attract and onboard new members. Collaborating cross-functionally, they will identify and implement innovative financial products and services to meet evolving member needs. Additionally, the CGO will oversee marketing efforts, ensuring a consistent and compelling message to attract, engage, and retain loyal members. Armed with strong analytical skills, the CGO will use data-driven insights to pinpoint growth opportunities and evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of sales methods, costs, and results.
Embracing a servant leadership approach, the CGO will support the marketing, sales, and services teams, incorporating coaching and mentoring initiatives to nurture talent and promote professional development. This individual will serve as an inspiring, goal-oriented, and strategic leader with a proven track record of success in growth-focused roles within the financial services industry. Possessing strong interpersonal skills, the CGO will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster organizational success.
Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required in business administration or a related field
- Minimum of ten years of experience in strategic marketing, sales, and service, preferably in a credit union
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing, leading, and developing managers and employees for a minimum of eight years
- Excellent organizational, time-management, communication, marketing, and writing skills
- Must be results-oriented with a focus on quality execution and delivery
- Possess a working knowledge of all relevant banking rules and regulations
