If so, you may be the Chief Lending Officer (CLO) that Lake Trust Credit Union (Lake Trust) is looking for. The CLO reports directly to the CEO and is an integral member of the leadership team. 

Lake Trust is certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and is dedicated to reinvesting in underserved neighborhoods to create more opportunities that promote vibrant communities and financial security. You will passionately support their mission as a CDFI by providing responsible lending solutions to the membership, including low-income or moderate-income populations and underserved communities while maintaining an acceptable level of risk and adhering to all policies and regulations. The CLO is responsible for the direct and indirect consumer, mortgage, commercial, student lending, and credit card portfolios. They also oversee the commercial, mortgage, and student lending CUSO partnerships.

The CLO brings an innovative approach to lending and will be an active and engaged member of the leadership team, which is responsible for developing, articulating, and implementing the Brand Promise, corporate culture, organizational strategy, and balanced scorecard achievement. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Identify opportunities to deliver holistic lending solutions to our membership, including supporting our mission as a CDFI.
  • Develop and implement revisions to policies, procedures, processes, and portfolio management functions to minimize losses based on market conditions and evolving risk strategies. 
  • Collaborate with direct reports and business unit teams on planning to ensure outcomes align with organizational goals/targets, including Business Plan & Budget, Strategic Initiatives, and Balanced Scorecard. 
  • Create cross-functional processes, ensuring a seamless hand-off and alignment with key areas to support member experience and well-being. 
  • Translate strategic and operating plans into the meaningful direction of projects, goals, priorities, and activities; deliver on the strategy through the right people in the right place at the right time. 
  • Identify and resolve internal member pain points, define and monitor service standards, enable easy navigation across the organization, and create new ways to deliver on the Lake Trust Brand Promise. 
  • Development of new loan products, program offerings, lending strategies, software enhancements, and methods of service delivery. 
  • Champion of employee engagement, employee development, and building succession across the Lending department through solid leadership and demonstration of the Lake Trust Brand Promise. 
  • Increase the credit union’s commitment to the communities which we serve by participating in civic functions, industry networking events, and volunteering. 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.  
  • 10+ years working in progressively more responsible financial institution leadership positions in lending/credit operations and administration. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge in compliance and federal regulation issues for consumer and commercial lending functions. 
  • Experience in developing, leading, and monitoring the strategic direction of lending/credit operations. 
  • Proven ability to break down barriers in order to pave new paths. 
  • Highly skilled in building cohesive cross-functional teams and facilitating collaborative decision-making. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other leaders within the organization to develop and implement organizational strategy.
  • Experience in managing loan participations and syndications among multiple lenders is a strong plus.
  • Passion for innovation and a willingness to challenge the status quo to enhance a strong member/customer service culture. 
  • Proven success in leading, directing, and developing team and individual team members.
