Their expertise in hedging allows their clients to strengthen their financial performance and improve efficiencies. To better meet their clients’ needs, they have created an exciting new position: Director, Hedging and Hedge Accounting. Accountabilities:

  • Primarily responsible for the firm’s hedging advisory work, in particular as it pertains to FASB ASC 815 advice: derivatives and hedge accounting
  • Direct client service and account management, including communication of hedging strategies and compliance with FASB guidelines
  • Make recommendations to satisfy hedge accounting guidelines (ASC 815)
  • Create hedge accounting policies
  • Create hedging memos for initial hedge designations and ensure appropriate documentation for auditors 
  • Create hedge redesignation memos and strategies
  • Understand and interpret mortgage modeling, including prepayment modeling and interest rate modeling
  • Monitor hedge accounting and hedging performance; work with clients and internal team to make necessary adjustments
  • Participate in the production of commentaries, articles, and webinars

Qualifications:

  • CPA required
  • Bachelor’s degree and strong academic record with a concentration in finance, economics, mathematics, or other related quantitative/analytical discipline preferred
  • Two to ten years of relevant work experience, preferably in derivatives, balance sheet hedging, and/or a hedge accounting advisory firm
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing clients
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg and/or other derivative pricing platforms
  • Knowledge of ZM Financial Systems or other interest rate modeling software is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with VBA and/or SQL is a plus
