Recruiting for a senior vice president of sales and business development (SVPSBD) at We Florida Financial Credit Union (WFFCU). WFFCU is an innovative, fast-paced organization. The primary function of this job is to provide outstanding service to members by providing leadership, direction, and administration of the credit union’s sales and business development areas (including the telephone sales unit, business development staff, mortgage loan officers, and the business-services manager). The SVPSBD reports to the chief marketing officer.
Candidates must make decisions within established guidelines, promote a sales environment, and serve as a team leader in an organization that values the spirit of teamwork. The SVPSBD oversees staff assigned to the credit union’s phone-based sales unit, outside sales, and business development functions and continually enhances those areas. As the SVPSBD, you will monitor, coach, and develop subordinates to meet or exceed expectations.
Job-specific functions include: achieving objectives for loan and member growth, product sales, and net income; developing and executing plans for membership growth and new market expansion; developing and executing an annual sales plan for loans, deposits, and fee income products to meet the credit union’s goals and drive revenue; investigate and resolve member problems and complaints; visit branch offices regularly to communicate the sales plan, provide training and generate referrals; contact prospective SEGs/community groups and make proposals to serve their employees/members. You will be responsible for promoting the credit union through contact with members, employee groups, and prospective SEGs and establish and maintain positive working relationships with outside vendors.
Candidates must have knowledge of marketing principles and practices, strategic and tactical planning, sales coaching, and the fundamentals of the financial industry; candidates must also be comfortable creating and making formal presentations to large groups. A minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, business development, or sales with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments and a bachelor’s degree are required. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education and self-development programs. Candidates must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including an established track record of managing a sales or marketing staff to achieve superior results.
