KCU announces an excellent opportunity for the role of vice president of information technology (VPIT). The VPIT is responsible for organizing, planning, directing, and controlling all of the credit union’s electronic functions, including systems and programming, computer operations, phone operations, and related vendor relationships. The VPIT establishes, implements, and administers IT divisional policies and procedures and acts as senior manager over all hardware, software, and equipment purchases and maintenance. The VPIT is responsible for future technological innovations.

As the VPIT, you will be responsible for disaster recovery planning and mitigation strategies and continually monitoring technical and processing priorities and methods. You will train, direct, and supervise department managers and assume responsibility for developing and implementing effective information services planning and strategies. You will develop a strategy and direction for the credit union’s electronic processing functions and execute and support corporate-wide established goals. The VPIT periodically reviews the credit union’s information needs, modifies the systems as required, and assumes responsibility for the effective performance of information services’ functions. The VPIT implements cost-effective and efficient systems computer operations to meet current and future information needs.

The VPIT manages, directs, oversees, and ensures the efficiency of computer operations, telecommunications, information systems, LAN/WAN networks, PC systems, and ensures that users’ and members’ needs are met and fully capable of utilizing established systems. As the VPIT, you will provide leadership to personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, communication, and conduct staff meetings as required. 

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. To be considered, candidates must have knowledge of computer and telecommunication equipment and five to ten years of experience in information services and operations, preferably in a financial institution. Supervisory experience is required.
