The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is looking for a vice president, treasurer (VPT). The VPT will work closely with the executive team to formulate bank strategies and execute daily borrowing, investing, and hedging activities. The VPT will manage the bank’s treasury department, identify relative value opportunities, develop funding strategies, manage liquidity, and maintain compliance with regulatory and bank policies.
As the VPT, you will recruit, retain, and develop high performing team members through communication, coaching, and performance evaluations. You will manage capital market functions, which include liquidity management, debt issuance, investments, and derivatives. You will participate in strategic planning for the department and business as a member of the management committee. You will serve as an active contributor in planning, evaluation, and execution of bank portfolio initiatives, provide leadership for the department, oversee staff development, and collaborate to develop and coordinate strategy and tactics. You must be able to manage multiple projects, teams, and analysis.
Qualified candidates will have a CFA designation or a master’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, statistics, or business administration. 10 or more years of investment experience, expert knowledge with the markets, and an understanding of finance, economics, accounting, investment, and banking principles and practices is essential for success in this role. Candidates should have expert knowledge of Bloomberg, TradeWeb, Intex, PolyPaths, Principia, SimCorp, and other analytical tools used in the trading and analysis process. Top candidates will have a demonstrated track record of trading capabilities, bank treasury functions, and risk-adjusted investment performance.
