Suncoast Credit Union (Suncoast) is looking for an energetic and dynamic leader to serve as its next senior vice president, service center operations (SVP SCO). The SVP SCO is responsible for the overall success of strategic objectives regarding service center operations, branches, and Suncoast’s expansion plan while fostering a member-centric culture. The SVP SCO will lead the planning, execution, and business development initiatives to accomplish organizational goals. The SVP SCO will report to the chief operations officer and supervise the vice president of service center operations while overseeing the strategic initiatives of the branches.

In this position, the SVP SCO will be responsible for the overall success of strategic objectives regarding service center and branch operations. The SVP SCO candidate should question assumptions, challenge the status quo, be curious, and experiment with new approaches and non-traditional solutions. This position may require you to work outside of regular business hours when attending community events and representing the credit union. These events often include public speaking. The SVP SCO will identify and recommend new expansion markets, branch locations, and any other physical presence opportunities. It is essential that the SVP SCO represent branch operations in executive discussions while eliminating bias from decision-making to define the best solutions for Suncoast overall.

Candidates should have proven success in adding strategic value to an organization and understand how trends might impact the organization in the future and prepare the organization accordingly. Candidates should have extensive knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job and an understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, CCUE or PCUE designation, and 10 to 12 years of work experience with five to seven of those years as a manager responsible for motivating and leading high performing teams. Qualified candidates will also be able to negotiate and influence the strategic direction of the organization as well as coach, mentor, and develop teams.

Suncoast was founded by local educators in 1934 as the Hillsborough County Teachers Credit Union and has grown into the largest credit union that is headquartered in Florida. Suncoast has a diverse board of directors and leadership team. Suncoast has made several amendments to their charter since 1934. These changes have made Suncoast available to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in various counties in Florida.
